Fiery glare

from £115.00

Across the flat grasslands of the Masai Mara, weathered termite mounds rise like natural watchtowers which are essential vantage points for cheetahs. From these elevated perches they scan for prey, tracking the movements of other animals across the plains.

We found this cheetah resting on top of one such mound, his throne. As he stirred from his nap, he lifted his head, eyes sharpened, gaze calculating. Regal yet poised, he surveyed the horizon with quiet intensity. He was hungry, his next target already chosen, two impalas grazing in the distance.

This photograph captures the duality of the cheetah, elegance in repose, determination in action. It is a study of instinct and survival, inviting viewers to witness the balance of grace and predation that defines one of Africa’s most iconic hunters.

Taken in the Masai Mara, Kenya.
