Quite by chance, paths crossed. From the thicket bordering the river, a leopard emerged, pausing in surprise at the unexpected sight of us. For a fleeting moment, I gathered my excitement and steadied my focus. She advanced with measured steps, wary yet unafraid, her presence commanding the space between us.
To see a leopard is rare, to see one this close is a dream come true. With her head lowered, her gaze sharp, calculating, assessing whether we posed a threat all in a split second. Strength radiated from her, boldness from her stride. Confidence in all of her, spoken in silence.
And then, as swiftly as it began, the encounter was over. She passed by, behind the vehicle with quiet authority, and disappeared into the bush (in search of her cub as we later found out). What remained was not just an image, but a memory of raw determination and the untamed elegance of the wild.
