When you are just about to get that shot, they do a one-eighty and head off in the opposite direction.

Why this project

I was lining up this perfect shot of a Rhino and her calf on a hilltop in Hluhluwe Game Reserve, hoping that they would turn and walk towards me or at least face in my direction. But NO, they didn’t even falter they turned away and walked off leaving me with only their behinds to photograph. Instead of chalking this up to a missed shot, I thought just take the darn shot and keep the memory of the two magical animals that I saw. And that was the birth of this project. Animals won’t listen to direction, they do their own thing and invariably they will turn away from you just as you are about to take the shot. Just remember if you don’t get ‘the shot’, you can still keep the memory.
